Describe the move once, in plain English — “Fade the walk-in music up in the house, and fade out the lobby music in Halls A and B.” — and TalkBoard builds it, saves it, and puts it on a Stream Deck key or a keyboard hotkey. If you’ve ever built a button page in a show-control app, you know what a good one is worth — and what it costs to configure: actions, options, values, one field at a time. TalkBoard builds the same kind of button from a sentence.

1. Say the move

“Build me a button that fades the band down 6 dB and brings the podium mic to unity over 2 seconds.” The AI turns it into a real command script.

2. Save it as a macro

“Save that as Speech Mode.” The script is stored — editable, listable, deletable, all by voice or text. It saves with your account, per console, so it’s waiting for you next time.

3. Put it on a key

Drag it onto a Stream Deck key or bind a hotkey. From then on it’s deterministic — no AI, no internet needed at runtime, the same script every time.

FAQ

Automation questions

Do I need a Stream Deck?

No. Every macro fires from keyboard hotkeys too. But if you own an Elgato Stream Deck, TalkBoard drives it natively — key art, pages, per-console button sets — with no Elgato software in the middle.

Is the AI involved when I press a button?

No. The AI helps you build the macro; the saved script replays deterministically with no AI and no internet at runtime. That’s the point — show-safe, repeatable, boring in the best way.

Where do my macros live?

They save with your TalkBoard account, organized per console — build a library on your X32, spend a month on QL jobs, and the moment you’re back on an X32 everything you made is right where you left it. They’re also stored on your machine, so saved macros fire locally with no internet at runtime.

Can a fade run while I keep mixing?

Yes — fades run in the background. On the X32/M32 families and Qu, fades on different channels overlap freely and each finishes on its own clock; a new fade on a channel that’s already fading takes over from it. QL/CL run one fade at a time — a new fade takes over. Sending a regular command takes over from a fade too, so you’re always in charge.

What can a timed fade control?

Any continuous parameter: faders, send levels, pans, EQ sweeps, and effect parameters like reverb decay or delay feedback. Duration from a tenth of a second to two minutes, always landing exactly on the target.

Can I put Undo on a button?

Yes — assign any Stream Deck key to “Undo last AI change” (X32/M32 families). One press, and the last AI move is reverted.

Which consoles does automation work on?
